Edit in Zed

Open a project or a design in Zed, on this Mac or on another Mac over SSH, and keep a design on Knighn in step while you edit its code.

Knighn opens your work in Zed the way T3 Code does: a folder on this Mac opens with zed://file, and a folder on another Mac opens with zed://ssh/<user>@<mac>/<path>, so Zed edits it over SSH and its language servers run on that Mac.

A project tab

Project > Open in Zed opens the selected layer's source line, or the project folder when nothing is selected. A project on another Mac (Open Project on Another Mac) opens on that Mac over SSH; the screens follow each save, as for any change to the code.

A design

File > Open in Zed opens the design as React source: one .tsx file per component, canvas.tsx, theme.css and design.json.

  • A design saved as a file or a design folder on this Mac opens where it is.
  • A design on Knighn opens from ~/Knighn/<design>/ on a Mac whose knighn command is signed in (Install Command Line Tool, or knighn login). That Mac keeps the folder in step with Knighn: each save in Zed reaches Knighn and the open tab, and an edit on the canvas reaches the folder. A save with an error is not sent until you fix it.

~/Knighn has a tsconfig.json and Zed settings for the Tailwind language server, so Zed checks the JSX and completes the classes with no code project around it.

From the terminal

knighn zed # this folder
knighn zed src/App.tsx:12 # a file at a line
knighn zed "Dashboard" # a design on Knighn, from ~/Knighn

In an SSH session (for example from the Mac mini), knighn zed opens Zed on the Mac you came from (air by default, or --on <host>), over SSH to this Mac.

Zed's agent

The Knighn app adds its MCP server to Zed's settings (context_servers), as it does for Claude Code and Codex, so Zed's agent can use search and execute. It keeps the comments in your settings file.
